ahhhhhhh, first week of uni is
finally over! for some reason, it felt particularly long. i guess its cos of all the coursework i did last minute hhaha! but it feels good to finally complete them all! :)
so now, the
loooong awaited update! been so lazy + lack of time anyways (ok fine we all know thats an excuse ;p)
im so semangated okay! right after coming back from uni at bout 5pm, straightaway went to screen all the pictures.. (im not even online for this reason!) and in the end i chose a whooping
123 photos! which is actually not bad la, for so many events! ;)
hmm, actually its quite lil.. have not been taking a lot of photos of late, no drive la! haha.
ANYWAYS.
realised that i have not updated at all about life in the uk ever since im here! so i'll start from then till the new years. be prepared! :D
the first big event (or thats what the pictures available in my laptop implies) is the kings clubbing event-
SOUND! it was fun, danced till feet hurt like crazy! :) too many pics la, so heres a handful.

then, went down to oxford for some conference (which is a total waste of time, so i'll skip it!) and to visit tzun tzins new house! its like freaking 3 floors with an attic to top it! :O
that was also the first time i cycled in the uk. cycled from his place to the city okay, which is about 15-20 mins far? the bike was a lil too high for me plus it was freaking cold, ESPECIALLY when youre cycling fast, and i was without gloves. my eye was tearing lots too!
digression: i chipped my nail ouch! i rammed into those annoying bars (to stop cyclists from cycling too fast in small lanes) and didnt realise till much later! ;S
BUT BUT BUT! it was super fun la! an experience cycling on the road with cars and all! :D

met up with xander as well. finally! he brought me around oxford uni campus, which is so amazing i tell you! the environment is so conducive for studying.. every hall has their own library, dining hall, garden etc.

then there was a period where slug and lettuce had 50% off on mondays. and guess who stays just right above that bar? ;)

we had the slug and lettuce platter which was highly recommended by helena! it was HUGE! i ordered nachos on top of that. sinful but good!
it was nice just chilling and talking to them two. good company :) we even had desserts each! we talked so much and so long that, if youre observant, you'll notice that we were there till dark. from bout 4 to 7+pm omg haha!

grace and lilian came over to the uk to study fashion and computer science just last year. its amazing to know that we've known each other since we were in our mummy's tummy! we try to meet whenever we can. just last week we had a girls movie night with chocs and french toast (i had a sudden craving for ice cream, but couldnt get, so we had that yummy alternative instead! haha!). too bad the movie sucked. 100 girls.
but anyways, this is waayy before that. shopping at oxford street. we were in debenhams where they were promoting some new make up thing, called helen or something. whatever, haha!
so we had free makeover! ;p

I LOOKED LIKE MUMMY WHEN SHE GOT MARRIED! oh the horror! it was like an afro set up! :S had to straightened again after that. my poor hair!
so yeah. they used MAC. make up really does wonders i tell you!

the food was good (there was

i was there from the 14th to the 17th, which means it was a 4-day trip. and boy. on the 4th day, i was missing london so much that i was ever so eager to go back! weird eh, i nv thought that i had such a connection with london haha! 4 days was long enough to visit most of prague, so im quite happy with the length of the trip! thank you to sue bee's friend florence who allowed us girls to bunk in with her during our stay! so kind! :)
so what can i say about prague?
well.. they put excess salt on their dishes! ALL OF EM! its a wonder they dont pass off as the country with highest percentage of high blood pressure casualties.

FIRST DAY -our first czech cuisine in the da vinci cafe,

this is called beef goulash with dumplings, a typical czech dish.
its something like stewed beef with soggy bread. not too bad. but salty!
apparently home made dumplings are to-die-for! too bad the ones found outside are all factory made! :S

we went to old town square where a pretty christmas market was set up! this is
trdelnik, another traditional czech dessert!
its damn nice when freshly baked. basically its like aunty anne's cinnamon sugar coated pretzels! yummy yum!
SECOND DAY -haha! we went to the outskirts and kutna hora on the second day, and i unfortunately left my camera in the room, so no pics :P which brings us to the..

being food lovers, sue bee and i did not hesitate to try their open sandwich. it was pretty cheap at about 30crowns = £1. note that i chose
smoked salmon again! hahaha! ;)
